Alberta PNP Latest Draw: AINP Express Entry and AAIP Updates
Alberta Advantage Immigration Program
The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP), formerly AINP, has several streams. **Alberta Express Entry** is linked to the federal pool—Alberta selects candidates and issues Notifications of Interest (NOIs). A nomination adds 600 CRS points. Alberta prioritizes candidates who have a job offer in Alberta, Alberta education or work experience, or a relative in the province. **Alberta Opportunity Stream** is for workers already in Alberta on a valid work permit. **Rural Renewal Stream** supports community-driven immigration to rural areas. **Entrepreneur streams** are for those who want to start or buy a business. Alberta has historically been selective, focusing on in-demand occupations and strong ties to the province.
What to Watch
Draw results show: the stream, the date, the CRS score range (for EE-linked draws), the number of NOIs issued, and sometimes the targeted criteria (e.g., job offer, French-speaking). AAIP publishes results on its website. CRS cut-offs for Alberta Express Entry have varied—sometimes lower than general federal draws, sometimes higher depending on demand. Alberta does not publish a detailed occupation list for EE; selection is based on provincial priorities.
Applying
You must be in the federal Express Entry pool and meet Alberta's criteria to be considered for the Alberta Express Entry stream. You cannot apply directly—Alberta selects from the pool. Ensure your profile is complete and that you've indicated interest in Alberta if the system allows. If you receive an NOI, follow the instructions to submit a full application within the deadline. Demonstrate genuine intent to live in Alberta—the province takes this seriously.
